We are doing our part to Mobilize the Earth by building a community garden in DC. People of all ages are invited to join us as we till the ground, plant seeds, and organize plots for the community. Everyone who participates will register an Act of Green and sign on to Earth Day Network's petition to end fossil fuel subsides.

Clean Up Your Corner is a grassroots event asking everyone around the world to donate one hour of their time on Earth Day 2012 (April 22) cleaning up their area of the world. This can be accomplished through simply picking up and properly disposing trash on the street or recycling/repurposing tossed items that can be recycled or repurposed. Much like a colander strains out pasta from a pot of water, our trash trap separates and traps the solid trash from heading further downstream. This trash trap was specially designed by our water quality specialist to prevent the spread of trash without injuring or harming wildlife like fish from moving freely about the river. (This project is great for a small group of volunteers)

Help to control dangerous storm water runoff from reaching the river by planting native plants and flowers along the side of the river. These meadows work much like a kidney, filtering out harmful waste from the Anacostia River. (This project is great for a small group of volunteers)
