City of Prattville Celebrates Arbor Day 2012

The City of Prattville will observe Arbor Day on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pratt Park Pavilion. The observance will include reading of the Arbor Day Proclamation by Mayor Bill Gillespie and planting of a tree donated by Plantation Tree Company.

As in years past, the Alabama Forestry Commission is generously providing over two thousand tree seedlings for free distribution at the Arbor Day event. Tree varieties available include Bald Cypress, Beauty Berry, Black Gum, Cherry Bark Oak, Chinese Elm, Chickasaw Plum, Crabapple, Crepe Myrtle, Green Ash, Japanese Maple, Longleaf Pine, Nuttall Oak, Oak Leaf Hydrangea, Overcup Oak, Red Bud, River Birch, Sawtooth Oak, Shumard Oak.
