Astronomy Ireland Astronomy Ireland are a national astronomy society based in Ireland. We run an educational programme. We visit primary schools around the country to educate children about the cosmos. As part of raising awareness for Earth Day 2011, we propose to include a section about enviromental awareness on our planet as part of the overall lecture.Astronomy helps us understand our place in the universe and the uniqueness of life on this planet. learning about our place in space promotes good stewardship and an appreciation of life.

Our religion islam tought us before 1432 years that we must take care of trees & plants.
It prevent trees cut with no need.

We, at Java Republic Roasting
We, at Java Republic Roasting Company, are really committed to looking after the environment. We have the world’s first purpose- built carbon-neutral coffee roastery which was built to EU specifications. We even considered small things like making sure that the building was south-facing so we could take advantage of passive solar gains.
Our environment and energy programmes cover water management, recycling, heating the building with wood pellets in our wood pellet burner. The ash generated from this is used in the roastery gardens. We also use our coffee grinds from the coffee house to dissuade snails and other pests that like to chomp on our flowers – no unhealthy pesticides for us! And we have a programme with SAP whereby they use our hessian coffee bags for their cutting collections and bagging of trees and shrubs. What gas and electrical power we do use is sourced from Energia. And any carbon credits we need to off-set we support projects in Brazil and Sudan. Our staff are committed to the philosophy with 10% of us car pooling and making sure that every area like laptop, printer, pc, canteen, air conditioning and heating use is managed with a view to making sure we have as little impact on the environment.
We are committed to future programmes in terms of using less paper for invoicing, statements by going as paperless as possible. Our packaging strategy is to use less packaging, recycled materials and biodegradable materials.
